Shrinky Kink Shuttles

Here's my "learning Equipment" or the Shrinky Dink (Registered
trade mark) shuttles. They are about 1 1/2" long. The cord is a rat-tail type cord. Very heavy. They grab the knot and (hopefully) start tatting. As soon as the student is mastering the "flip" I let them choose a real shuttle with #5-#10 thread. There are 2 layers with the thread glued into the center.
